Easy Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake

 Easy Strawberry Cheesecake Dump Cake

This dump cake layers the classic flavors of strawberry cheesecake into an incredibly simple-to-make dessert. Just dump the ingredients in layers and bake! Perfect for potlucks, family gatherings, or a weeknight treat.

Yields: 10-12 servings
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 45-55 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Strawberry Layer:
    • 2 cans (21 oz each) Strawberry Pie Filling
  • Cheesecake Layer:
    • 1 block (8 oz) Cream Cheese, softened to room temperature (very important!)
    • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
    • 1 large Egg
    • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Cake Topping:
    • 1 box (approx 15.25 oz) Yellow or White Cake Mix (just the dry mix)
    • 3/4 cup (1.5 sticks) Unsalted Butter, cold

Equipment:

  • 9x13 inch Baking Dish
  • Medium Mixing Bowl
  • Electric Mixer (Handheld or Stand) or Whisk
  • Spatula

Instructions:

  1. Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease your 9x13 inch baking dish.
Strawberry Layer: Open the cans of strawberry pie filling and spread them evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

  1. Cheesecake Layer:
    • In your medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar. Using an electric mixer (or a whisk and some elbow grease), beat until smooth and creamy, ensuring no large lumps of cream cheese remain.
    • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until just combined. Don't overmix.
    • Dollop spoonfuls of the cheesecake mixture evenly over the strawberry pie filling. You don't need to spread it perfectly flat; it will spread a bit as it bakes, creating lovely pockets of cheesecake.

  2. Cake Mix Layer: Open the box of dry cake mix. Sprinkle the dry mix evenly over the cheesecake and strawberry layers, covering everything as best as you can. Do NOT stir it in! Gently pat it down slightly if needed to even it out.

  3. Butter Layer: Thinly slice the cold butter. Arrange the butter slices evenly over the top of the dry cake mix, covering as much surface area as possible. The melting butter will combine with the cake mix to create the delicious crust.

  4. Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and bubbly around the edges. The strawberry filling should be bubbling up slightly at the sides.
  5. Cool: Carefully remove the dump cake from the oven. Let it cool on a wire rack for at least 15-20 minutes before serving. It will be extremely hot, and this cooling time allows the layers to set slightly.

Serving Suggestion:

Serve warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or even a dollop of cool whip.
